Obtained from the crushed seeds of the Plantago ovata plant, a herb native to parts of Asia, Mediterranean regions of Europe, and North Africa, psyllium husk contains no additives or preservatives and is pure fibre (mucilage).
The soothing, protective effect of psyllium husk is believed to detoxify the whole gastro-intestinal tract. It can assist in aiding stomach and digestive conditions, providing healthy replacement fibre for coeliacs and those on gluten free diets.
Psyllium grades pertain to lightness. Lower percentage can mean a slightly darker husk with more black seed particles. The greater the percentage the more pure and lighter husk for premium applications.
